EU: Industrial production decelerated to 2.9%, according to report

14:49 The growth of industrial production in the euro zone this year decelerate to 2.9%, a reduction that will increase during 2009, according to the Instituto Flores de Lemus of the Carlos III University in his latest Bulletin of Inflation and Macroeconomic Analysis (BIAM).

The Institute notes that the Industrial Production Index (IPI) for February this year was an evolution better than expected, recording a growth of 3.1% compared with 2.6% forecast. The confidence indicator in the sector deteriorated March minimally respect to February, which dampens the progressive deterioration indicator experienced since April 2007.
